My first website host

I grabbed one of their Core Shared Hosting plans for my little project. It was pretty easy to get started, which was good because I'm not super techy. The website builder was okay, nothing fancy but it worked for what I needed. I had a small hiccup with my email setup, but I figured it out eventually after looking through their help docs. Overall, it's been fine, definitely got my money's worth.

Cheap .eu domain

Got a .eu domain during their promo, it was super cheap for the first year. Honestly, I wasn't expecting much, but it set up without any fuss. For the price, I can't complain. It felt like a good deal.

Good domain, slow support

I registered a .dev domain with them last month. The registration process itself was straightforward and quick. DNS management was easy enough to set up. However, I had an issue linking it to my hosting and customer support took nearly 48 hours to get back to me. It eventually got resolved, but the wait was a bit frustrating for a simple fix.

Just got an email about my .com domain renewal and the price seems higher than last year. Are there any renewal coupons or discounts for existing customers?

S Sneha22 1 week ago ✓ Best Answer
Sometimes if you contact support directly and mention you're considering transferring due to the price, they might offer a small discount. Worth a shot, maybe?

Oh, that's a good idea! I'll try that.

Did that once with another provider, got a decent offer actually.

Mine went up too! I tried looking for renewal coupons but didn't find anything specific. Usually, those first-year deals are just that, for the first year. It's frustrating.

Yeah, that's what I figured. Hard to switch for a small increase though.

I usually wait for Black Friday or Cyber Monday sales. They often have better deals on new registrations or transfers, but not always renewals. Depends on the TLD too.

My renewal is next month, can't really wait that long.

Does EuroDNS include free SSL certificates with their hosting plans, or do I have to buy that separately?

M Marcus D. 1 month ago
Afaik, their hosting plans usually come with a free basic SSL, at least for the first year. It's pretty standard now for most hosts.

G Greg Vargas 1 month ago
Yup, got one included with my shared hosting package. It was automatically set up too, which was nice.

Wondering about the whole domain transfer thing. I've got a .org with GoDaddy and want to move it to EuroDNS. Is it a huge hassle or pretty straightforward?

N Neil 2 months ago
It's pretty standard, nothing crazy. You'll need to unlock it at GoDaddy first and get an authorization code. Then just initiate the transfer on the EuroDNS site. Takes a few days to process.

Did one last month, was pretty smooth. Just make sure your contact info is updated on your current registrar before you start, can sometimes cause delays if it's not.

Anyone got experience with their refund policy for domains? Accidentally bought the wrong one and need to swap it out.

J Jared Lindqvist 1 month ago
Domains are a bit tricky with refunds everywhere, not just EuroDNS. Most registrars have a very limited window, or none at all, because once it's registered to you, it's yours. Best to contact their support immediately.

D Daisy Romero 1 month ago
Yeah, I think for domain registrations it's usually non-refundable after a short period, like a few days max. Hosting or SSLs might be different but domains are often final sale.

Is EuroDNS actually legit? I'm used to bigger names like GoDaddy or Namecheap, just wanna make sure they're a reliable registrar.

E Elena 2 months ago
Totally legit. They're big in Europe and have been around forever. Been using them for years for some niche TLDs and never had an issue. Their support is actually decent too.

Yeah, they're not some fly-by-night operation. Very reliable, especially if you're looking for European domain extensions. I'd trust them over some others for sure.

Hey, thinking about getting a .com through EuroDNS. Anyone know if they do any kind of first-time user discount? Trying to save a few bucks.

R Renee Romero 2 months ago
Yeah, they almost always have some kind of intro discount for new registrations. Especially for popular TLDs like .com. Keep an eye out for a promo code field at checkout.

They totally do! I got my .net domain for like 70% off the first year last Black Friday. They usually have good deals for new sign-ups.

How long does it usually take for a new domain to actually be active after you register it with EuroDNS? Like, can I start building a site right away?

R Raj 1 month ago
Usually, it's pretty quick, like minutes to an hour sometimes. But DNS propagation can take up to 24-48 hours to fully update across the internet. So you might not see it instantly everywhere.

Registered a .eu last week, it was live within about 20 minutes for me. Not bad at all.

Thinking of moving my .eu domains to EuroDNS. Anyone done this recently? How smooth was the transfer process?

R Rahul87 1 month ago ✓ Best Answer
I transferred two .eu domains last month. It was pretty straightforward, surprisingly. Just make sure your EPP code is correct from your current registrar, that's usually where the hold-up happens.

R Rahul87 1 month ago
Nah, mine went through in about 3 days. Pretty quick.

Same here. Getting tired of managing them across different registrars.

I moved a .fr domain a while back, not .eu, but the process was good. Their support was helpful when I had a question about the authorization code format.

That's reassuring. I've had some nightmares with transfers before.
